Today I decided to do some more research onGoogle AdSense.
The first interesting point I found was thatGoogle automatically chooses which ads to show based on your blogs content. Apparently, you earn money when visitors view or click on these ads.
I then learned that you need to be aware of and careful about information the "Google AdSense Program Policies" (https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=48182).According to this, if you violate any aspect of the policy, your AdSense account could be disabled and you will not be eligible for further participation in the AdSense program. I read it closely and mined out the following points:
P1) Clicks on Google ads must result from genuine user interesti.e. Do NOT click on AdSense ads on your site your self.i.e. Do NOT use a program that automates clicks on your site (e.g. a robot).
P2) Do NOT encourage clicks of ads on your site. You basically need to update your sitescontent like the AdSense ads are not even there i.e. you can't have text on your site that says something like "click that ad that you see on the right"
P3) Make sure your site on which AdSense ads are displayed does not have any illegal or offensive content
in them. This includes Violent Material and Pornography. For a more inclusive list, please see the "Google AdSense Program Policies" site at https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?
answer=48182.
P3) Make sure all of your sites content does not violate any Copyrights. I typically ensurethis by making sure to site any references you make.
P4) Keep your site clean with minimal pop ups, etc.
Next I found some information on when Google pays you for hosting their ads via this link:https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=9905
Seems to be a straightforward policy. However, it points out again that if you violate any policies, they could withhold payment to you. I guess that better than completely kicking you off as the actuallypolicy page indicates. The bottom line is, if you enroll in AdSense, make sure you knowwhat your doing.
I think I'll need to spend more time pouring through the AdSense documentation before I make
any commitments. If anyone has any advice, please post it here.
